Nashville Tennessee Family Photographer | Jackson's First Birthday
I was honored to film and photograph a First birthday in June. I have not yet captured a birthday. It was really great getting to do something new! The large family and friend gathering was so simple and sweet. The people were kind and just filled with love and gratitude. My favorite kind of people!!!
They held the birthday at one of the Grandparent's homes which happened to be nestled on a lake in Gallatin, TN. They were tucked away from the main lake and had their own dock. I loved observing the grandparent's making the food and all of the attendees love on Jackson. The weather was hot - June in the south! and the balloons kept popping as a result ?? but Lauren (momma) rolled with it.
Birthday parties are not something I can take on regularly - since Families are my primary client and my main passion. But this was really fun. If you are interested in a family film, please contact me here.

Millie was just precious for her session. She has adorable literally coming from every angle! Big brother is already in love, and everyone is thrilled to have a new baby girl. I love documentary sessions because they capture honest, raw and real emotion. Its an honor to be hired to photograph this time in a family's life.

I have been photographing this family since baby #1 was a newborn. They are SO full of love and fun! and the children are SO sweet and well behaved. (The majority of my sessions are). I don't think my boys would behave this well at this age. But we had a blast and played. The weather was perfect, not cold and not hot, just right for October! I love this location because it gives me so many background types. My favorite images are the ones where I give little direction and the clients are doing what comes naturally. I want them to remember their life the way it is right now.

When I think of Lucy, the word sweet comes to mind. She's just rolly and sweet. A snuggler for sure. She and her sister are developing their bond and you can see, its so strong already. Ashton turned one. Im so sad, because I just ADORE this family. Im sure I will see them each year, but still..... not seeing them every 3 months will be sad. Ashton is adorable as ever. He really performed for his photos and film this session. We had such fun and his personality really came through! The weather was perfect. It truly was one of those perfect days and sessions. The sunset was outstanding. The water was amazing to look at. It was just a very peaceful session. Nashville Maternity Photographer | Hannah's Glorious Sunset Session
Hannah was the best maternity client ever. I truly feel this way after my maternity sessions, though! Women come to me and they are nervous! Its not easy to volunteer to show of your bump in front of the camera. To dress up and let someone capture you. Many women think it will be awkward. After the session, they go ON and ON about how fun it was and how surprised they were about how natural they felt. We truly have a blast and laugh the entire time! I had a wardrobe of dresses for my clients, and I love when clients wear Free People Dresses. No one ever regrets maternity photography! This night, Nashville had the most glorious sunset ever.

AJ is such a peaceful sweet newborn boy. I photographed him at their home on a beautiful day in Nashville. It was a very quaint simple session, lots of emotive connection during the shoot. His big sister is absolutely smitten with him. I had such a wonderful time and my heart and soul were so happy leaving this in-home documentary shoot. I love capturing their real life. Connecting with them and giving them an emotional set of images that really tells a story. We chatted the entire time and really had a fun and laid back shoot!

Nashville Baby Photographer | Lealand's 12 Month Session
Lealand is one. Even as the photographer, I cannot believe how fast the first year goes. You just NEVER ever get it back. Even if its a really hard year, its a very important year that has the most dependence. The baby moments are so far and few between. They only snuggle for such a short time. They grow up and leave. I want Moms to remember their personality that first year, how they loved to eat dirt and hated touching grass. How they made this certain face when they were displeased.
Lealand has a very big voice and lots of opinions, and she in only ONE y'all. ONE. 13 year old Lealand should be interesting. I had fun capturing this time and cant wait to watch her grow into a spunky willful lady!

Baby Enzo was DARLING for his milestone session. He was intrigued and so happy to be outdoors. I loved working with him and his sweet parents. The weather was perfect. Nashville Family Photographer | Day in the Life of the Jordan Family
5 years ago, my youngest was born. In hindsight, I think this was when my love for films/videography was born. I just did not know it yet. I had a videographer at my birth. To this day, when the song on my film begins to play, I tear up at the first note. When I shoot, I shoot to make people FEEL something. I don't wish to capture "things" like props and clutter etc. I want to capture EMOTION. I want to convey a feeling through imagery.This year, in January. Before I had even found the workshop I eventually attended. I KNEW in my heart, this year was going to be a year of drastic change for my work. Its happening and Im more excited than ever. This is one of my many Heights of my career - Im shifting - into more emotive, documentary work, with still some lifestyle portions too.Wondering what documentary is? and Lifestyle? Lifestyle portraits, they capture emotion but the photographer gives subtle cues. Where as posed portraits, are 100% directed by the photographer. Documentary - the photographer says nothing. she waits for things to happen. These don't usually happen outdoors. They happen inside the home and capture the raw moments. The in between moments we don't always see. The time the baby fell down on his knee and needed a bandaid. Those moments capture pure mommy hood. Pure childhood in their rawest forms. These really pull at my heart.A baby with a pacifier, seems so silly, but when captured just right, to me it speaks and tells an entire story about the time in the life when there was a little baby sucking on a paci. This time is FLEETING. We do not get it back.I definitely wrote more than I planned, and it was all from my heart. I always enjoy sessions with this family. Ive been photographing Chase since he was born. And its always been a blast. They have such a strong emotional connection. The boys are typical rambunctious boys. But when you're with this crew, you can feel all of the emotion, and their love for life is great! Nashville Baby Photographer | Leland Loves Nature
Baby Leland is one and LOVES nature more than Any child Ive ever photographed. He at one point was peeing in the creek. We laughed so hard during this session. I love the joy Leland brings to the people around him! and he is all of 12 months old! It was a gorgeously perfect day. We did some really fun creek photos and captured him walking (running!). We also captured his LOVE for apples. He eats one every day!

This family, y'all, is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE FAMILIES! They left a while back to move to florida. I photographed their first son, Chase, here in Nashville, until he was a toddler, and then they moved. So, I didn't get to photograph their second son. But Thank the LORD they moved back! and I was able to finally meet Sweet Chandler! I just loved him to pieces. Very laid back and has the most fun wild hair. We had such fun capturing this time!

Rowan is 9 months old. He is SO laid back, smiley, sweet, and snuggly! He, like his brothers, is VERY active! Crawling early and getting into everything! This family of boys has a reputation for keeping me on my toes. I love it though, I know at 12 months, I will surely have tons of blurry ones from chasing him! HA! I cant wait to see him again!

Baby Eliot is brand new to the world! She went overdue, and was very lazy about entering this world. But now that she's here, she is pretty chill! We had fun capturing the new baby.
