Franklin, TN Family Photographer | A Day with the lush boys
I spent the afternoon recently on The Lush family farm/land. It isn't really a farm - except they do have chickens. They recently purchased 86 acres just outside of Franklin in Mcewen, Tennessee. They have been Full Time Rv-ers for the past year. Its been amazing to watch their journey - and Im so envious of their ability to RV for a whole year. They plan to build a home on their new land in the coming year, but are living in the RV in the meantime.
Malary wanted to capture her 4 boys' brotherhood and life together right now - in the country - being boys. Chasing animal life, feeding chickens, playing in creeks, getting dirty. Right up my ALLEY! I love capturing nature and kids being kids.
This family is my oldest client. I first photographed Malary's bump YEARS ago - probably 10-11 years ago. and I have captured every bump, newborn, baby milestone, and family photography session since. When I began making family films, we did a newborn family film and a family film of them when they moved out of their home a year ago, to capture their time in that special place.

When you are reading to your small child, the importance of these memories may not hit you until they are older and more independent, reading all on their own. Then it hits you hard, where you feel equally proud and nostalgic as they read those precious words that they spent months learning to read. During those younger years, time seems to move more slowly.... But then in the middle of elementary school, time picks up and goes at warp speed. As parents of older children, we came to understand this the hard way. As your family film maker and photographer, I want to freeze as much of this for you so later, you'll have the ability to fully immerse into your memories.
By the time they turn 10, you start to be fully aware of how it seems like daily, they become increasingly independent. One thing many don't realize about this age... is that for many its the last time they will look like a child... they are about to go through puberty and rapidly turn into a child who looks like an adult. It's shocking and awesome at the same time. I am so glad we have family films before my oldest son, Atticus, went through puberty at age 11. He is now 12 and 5'7" and looks like a man doing parkour in my home. He acts like a 12 year old but looks 15.
Spending a Saturday morning with The Kessenger family at their franklin, TN home was filled with warmth and joy. Watching them play out in their backyard, play Guess who and read all snuggled up.... It fills me with this joy that is indescribable. Listening to their laughter brings tears to my eyes.

We always have a blast. Ayla loved her session with her mommy and daddy, as it was full of snuggles, which her favorite! We just had an absolute blast and the session flew by. These moments are so fleeting. I love capturing these precious moments for my clients. I love to get a few posed shots at the beginning and then just play! I don't like to force kids to do things, it just makes life hard. We just have fun and giggle a lot!

Addison is one of my favorite little people. She is spunky and opinionated. She isn't won over easy, which is my favorite challenge. She and I had a blast during her session! Addison is growing so fast, we had a blast letting her play in the water! She may not be a baby any longer, but I can still some baby-isms left. I hope she keeps a few for just a bit. Babies don't keep! I designed her whole session. I love coming up with a vision and seeing it come to life. At the end, she gave us some of those sweet moments, sucking her thumb. Those moments, will be missed!

The Smiths and I had such a blast for their shoot. We really captured the children's personalities and love for one another. The weather has been so gorgeous this Fall, we have been insanely lucky. Ive been shooting for 7 years this January and this year and last, we have had amazing November weather! But this year, was by far the best. The leaves lasted until almost December, I have never seen that happen before. Usually they're gone by November 15th IF were lucky! I remember two years ago, we had snow around Thanksgiving. This shoot was lovely and we had lots of fun sun flare :)

The Conner's just moved here from California. Im so honored they hired me to capture their family this year. We did a lot of prep work for this session and it turned out amazingly! The days leading up to the shoot made us nervous. It was supposed to rain - which it did. But it was going to be very cloudy the day of the session and the main rain threat was that afternoon, so we spontaneously moved the session from sunset to 10 am and boy did it turn out! At the end, a storm began to blow in and we got some really fun shots with leaves blowing all around. It was truly magical. However, that was the last time we had rain and now we are in a drought! So crazy!

I have been honored to photograph this baby since he was in his mommy's tummy. I adore Lane, he's so fun and sweet and such a chunk! He's growing too quickly. I love this age, they just have such fun manipulating objects (like a wagon or bucket) and they are so into exploring. I love capturing that! My main goal was to capture Lane's boyish adventurous side - I think it worked!

Sarah and her precious family just moved here from Alaska. The girls think spring here is HOT! Im so glad we had amazing weather for their session. The girls were precious as can be, and Sarah snapped a photo of Lydia and I having a tea party after the session (its on my instagram). When I saw them again in their home for their ordering session, Lydia was certain I had come for a sleep over! I love kids and winning them over means the world to me. Lucy is shy and reserved and only responds to me when there isn't a camera in my hands ;) She's quite intuitive and smart.Their daddy is about to go to Iraq for 9 months, so it was a very emotional session. Nashville Baby Photographer | Henley is 12 months old!
A year ago, I had babies being born left and right. I remember it so vividly, because one of my clients waiting to birth her baby was my best friend. I had babies due in July AND August all born within a few weeks' time. One baby went overdue by 2 weeks, several came on time and several came early. There was a huge red full moon I remember, and then bam. Babies like crazy! Well, a year later, Im getting to photograph them at their one year sessions! Its so bitter sweet seeing them for the last time (for now anyway!). I know many clients will come back next year, and I can't wait to see how these babies prosper!This sweet girl is Henley.
