Most newborn photographers LOVE twins. I am definitely one of them. These girls were born 10 weeks premature and were about 6 weeks old for the shoot. But they were great and slept like champs (they had mom and dad up all night). During the session, Mom and Dad watched some TV and snoozed on the couch in the loft area of my studio. Then they went across the street for lunch while I finished up. I love that moms and dads trust me with their babies. Ummmmmmmmmmm..... how did MY baby TURN TWO??? Where the heck did the past two years go? Oh yea, to graduating College and my photography business!I remember the emotions in the begnning: fear, nervousness, excitement, wonder...... I LOVED every second.I STILL rock him to sleep and will until he says No. I know I will never get these days back. He is only two and I want them all back, if only for a moment.Anyway, we went to Cheekwood this past weekend. We have a membership and we have taken him a few times over the summer. They have a train exhibit with THOMAS, who he is Obsessed with. (guess what our party theme this year is ?)So here are some photos that I have gotten of him over these past few weeks. If you have been a fan for a while you may have noticed my 365 was a FAIL. Why? because my TWO year old won't let me take photos of him anymore. I'm still working on conditioning him to like it. Positive reinforcement: cookies and organic m&ms. I think it is working. yesterday he picked up a random toy and pretended to take a photo of daddy. he said "picture?" and "cheese!!!!"So cute!So, please know that creativity usually goes out the window when photographing my own family. Why? Because Im lucky to get any of them looking at the camera. Maybe I get a smile, maybe not. Composition? HA! no such thing! Just get them in focus, exposed nearly correct and in the frame. I only photograph newborns and maternity sessions year round, but in September, October, November, April, and May, I photograph anything :)There are a few exceptions to this "rule" if you will:1) some individuals started their 3, 6, 9, 12 with me before I made this switch, so I am finishing up their first year packages.2) When a friend wants me, Im there for them.3) You never know with me, I get in moods sometimes and want to do other sessions because I have some sort of vision. Well, for this family, #2 is the reason. This family and my family go way back. Our husbands went to High School together. She and I had babies together. Plus, they were my first subjects before I started this business :DDDThey have a BEAUTIFUL child. she has red, curly hair! I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful woman's baby bump last week. She has great taste in clothing and lives on farm land (which is awesome for photos). We had so much fun and just chatted away the entire 2 hours.
