AJ is such a peaceful sweet newborn boy. I photographed him at their home on a beautiful day in Nashville. It was a very quaint simple session, lots of emotive connection during the shoot. His big sister is absolutely smitten with him. I had such a wonderful time and my heart and soul were so happy leaving this in-home documentary shoot. I love capturing their real life. Connecting with them and giving them an emotional set of images that really tells a story. We chatted the entire time and really had a fun and laid back shoot!

Baby Enzo was DARLING for his milestone session. He was intrigued and so happy to be outdoors. I loved working with him and his sweet parents. The weather was perfect. Ingram is ONE. I mean, they just grow so incredibly fast. The fussy days, the teething, and sleepless nights, just go by so fast. I love this time of year, when I have baby chicks at my house. Being able to use them for a few shoots is nice. He loved them and was very curious. I love watching babies analyze their surroundings, and take it all in.

Nashville Family Photographer | Day in the Life of the Jordan Family
5 years ago, my youngest was born. In hindsight, I think this was when my love for films/videography was born. I just did not know it yet. I had a videographer at my birth. To this day, when the song on my film begins to play, I tear up at the first note. When I shoot, I shoot to make people FEEL something. I don't wish to capture "things" like props and clutter etc. I want to capture EMOTION. I want to convey a feeling through imagery.This year, in January. Before I had even found the workshop I eventually attended. I KNEW in my heart, this year was going to be a year of drastic change for my work. Its happening and Im more excited than ever. This is one of my many Heights of my career - Im shifting - into more emotive, documentary work, with still some lifestyle portions too.Wondering what documentary is? and Lifestyle? Lifestyle portraits, they capture emotion but the photographer gives subtle cues. Where as posed portraits, are 100% directed by the photographer. Documentary - the photographer says nothing. she waits for things to happen. These don't usually happen outdoors. They happen inside the home and capture the raw moments. The in between moments we don't always see. The time the baby fell down on his knee and needed a bandaid. Those moments capture pure mommy hood. Pure childhood in their rawest forms. These really pull at my heart.A baby with a pacifier, seems so silly, but when captured just right, to me it speaks and tells an entire story about the time in the life when there was a little baby sucking on a paci. This time is FLEETING. We do not get it back.I definitely wrote more than I planned, and it was all from my heart. Henry Joel has been such a blessing and light for this sweet family. We enjoyed the weather on this beautiful Summer day in Tennessee and captured all of him! He has so much personality. That year went by so quickly. Mommies and Daddies just don't get this sweet time back. They grow up and life simply changes. I truly believe in capturing moments, emotions, and connection (rather than props and things).

Ashton came to his session tired and ready to go to bed! We were headed to the car to reschedule when he suddenly got very happy! Ended up having a fantastic session! You just never know with these little babies. Nashville weather has been amazing. Hardly any sweaty sessions ;)

Nashville Baby Photographer | Miles' 3 Month Lifestyle Session
Miles is already 3 months old. The year is nearly half over for 2017! Time is flying, despite my many efforts to slow it down. This summer, my boys and I are trying to lay together on the hammock as much as possible. Thats my way of trying to slow time down. My boys are 8 & 5 and its really not cool how fast they are growing! I know Miles will be 5 and then 8 before we know it! Its like we blink, and bam. Graduation is here. Breaks my heart. Nashville Baby Photographer | Leland Loves Nature
Baby Leland is one and LOVES nature more than Any child Ive ever photographed. He at one point was peeing in the creek. We laughed so hard during this session. I love the joy Leland brings to the people around him! and he is all of 12 months old! It was a gorgeously perfect day. We did some really fun creek photos and captured him walking (running!). We also captured his LOVE for apples. He eats one every day!

This family, y'all, is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE FAMILIES! They left a while back to move to florida. I photographed their first son, Chase, here in Nashville, until he was a toddler, and then they moved. So, I didn't get to photograph their second son. But Thank the LORD they moved back! and I was able to finally meet Sweet Chandler! I just loved him to pieces. Very laid back and has the most fun wild hair. We had such fun capturing this time!

I was able to photograph sweet Elizabeth. She is 3 and her mom says she is sassy. I never saw that side of her. She was just sweet and very fun to capture! We photographed at my home, where I have land. In the backyard is this small square of Weeds / Herbs / Flowers. You always get a different answer depending on who you ask. My kids have been telling me to use it in photos. Ive disregarded it, as you can see in this iPhone photo, its not much to look at:

Miles was awake all night the night before his shoot, and luckily that meant he was super tired for his session with me! (sorry mom and dad!). I loved all his hair and he has the most angelic little face! We captured him amazingly, and I love this new little family!

Rowan is sweet as can be! with cheeks that make you wanna eat a baby! We had such fun capturing this fast developing little boy's six month session. He's already working on crawling. He's just trying to keep up with his two big brothers, Im sure! His mommy brought in some rustic toys and they were a perfect addition to the images. Its so nice to add in subtle props that don't overpower the image. In this case, it really brought out the vintage feel!
