Franklin, Tennessee Newborn Photographer | Benjamin
Sweet Benjamin arrived earthside in his home on a gorgeous October day. Im so happy his momma had her home birth. While I was not there to capture her home birth, we did have a newborn photo and video session lined up.
Welcoming Benjamin Film:
I loved spending a few hours with these two. Back in September, I captured Rachel's Maternity Session. I have fallen in love with Rachel as a person, as a pregnant mother and now a mother of a newborn. Her heart is pure and her love is deep for Benjamin. She's a single momma determined to give Benjamin everything she can. She has an amazing support system and has a miracle job that has allowed her to work and be with her baby.
We are all praying for Rachel and Benjamin on the daily. That they have a peaceful first year together, filled with love and low stress. We see how bonded these two are and all of us are surrounding Rachel to help support her bond and needs as they come up. Im so happy breastfeeding has gone well too (despite a tie revision).
Im excited to see Rachel and Benjamin have their first Christmas together as mother and son. He has already grown so much and I cant wait to watch him grow even more over the next year. Reach out to me to get your family photographed.
xoxo
Franklin, Tennessee Newborn Photographer | Welcoming Forest
I have to start with his name.... IM IN LOVE! I have 2 boys and don't necessarily want another baby boy, but that name is tempting....
How I approach a newborn photography session.... My family photos and films are unstaged and undirected. But with newborn sessions, I tend to do some light directing.... Maybe one day I won't. But for now, it feels right and still feels authentic. I get to know the parents beforehand too so I can tailor it to their family and not be a cookie cutter session, so that helps too.
Forest's older sisters have a lot of personality, particularly Poppy. (all of her children's names are super cute!). Poppy is their middle child and she lets us know her mood by her facial expression ?
Forest was born at home. since he was her third baby, he should have been an easy home birth. But he was her most difficult! Its a long story and not mine to share, but the midwives were well equipped and mom is so grateful and has no regrets. I will say, it was a 3 day labor to get buddy out.
While right now, mama doesn't want to do that again, I love seeing clients have lots of babies ? I guess that's easy for me to say, I just get to capture them!
I loved capturing all of these meaningful moments for this sweet family. I know they already treasure these photos so much!
Praying for them as they adjust to life with 3 kids.
xoxo,
Jennie
Nashville Newborn Photographer | Kate's in-home session
I arrived at my clients home on a Sunday morning in Nashville. The sun was shining and it was just a beautiful day. Fall is very near, leaves are starting to fall. After entering their home, Im greeted with warm smiles all around. Mom, Dad, and Grandma are just so happy to be together and to capture Baby Kate.
Noah and Lauren (aka daddy and mommy) were so calm and happy and seemed so content in their new lives as parents to baby Kate. Before our session I had learned a few things about the family. How Baby Kate falls asleep, what momma treasures right now in this season as a new mom. So we aimed to capture that for the whole family, so they could all remember the story of when baby Kate was a baby and all the things they did learning her personality and falling in love with her more each day.
Sweet Kate was in the best mood for her session, she let us change her a few times and I was able to shoot for over an hour. We truly had so much fun chatting and getting to know one another.
Now that I have edited their session, I look back at the photos and I see warmth. I see comfort. Safety. Love. I see the story of a new family that probably feels like having a baby is both a bit foreign and also feels like they cant remember before she was earth side.
Now that my boys are 9 and 12, I know Lauren will never regret having this time captured. Especially a session that shows their true nature as new parents. These photos will always bring her right back to when little Kate fell asleep curled up on her chest. or how they would have to take her out to the back porch to soothe her. She will remember their nursing journey (which is having some struggles, so Im praying it'll last as long as they want it to). She will remember the scene of her husband with their new daughter - how he held her or watched her. Also, he loves Kate's facial expressions, and I think we managed to get a few on camera.
I love being able to create memories for my clients. Its the best job.
Nashville Baby Photographer | Vera 3 Months Old
Baby Vera. This session was awesome. We captured some lifestyle and documentary photography for this family, their first session as a family because of Covid. What I loved about this session, was feeling the way they loved Vera, how confident they felt as parents, and how I could feel their connection not only in the images, but during the session. We photographed longer than normal, because the baby was in such a great mood. She had an honest blow out, so bath photos also occurred hahahaha!
At the end of the session, I was packing up to leave when from upstairs, dad calls “this might make a good photo!” - so I did what any amazing loving photographer would do and I unpack my gear and head up.He was bouncing his baby girl to sleep on this ball. Mom watched as I photographed it. I described how it would have felt to have this moment on video rather than just photo and tears came to her eyes. This session wasn’t a film session but we will do one soon. I’m so glad she has photos of this moment. It makes me feel a sense of happiness and stillness, seeing him bounce his baby girl. One day, she won’t need bouncing to fall asleep. This moment was fleeting.
Here is the email reply that momma sent me after seeing the gallery:"Jennie- I’m in tears. You are so perfect with capturing our family. I love Love love the photos and your work. You’re a true talent. It was so great to meet you and have you as a part of our journey. Tom and I are still discussing future sessions and considering a video as well. We will absolutely be in touch- you have customers for life with us. Thank you!!! "
Franklin TN Newborn Photographer | Meaningful Memories
I first met Malary back in 2011, when she hired me to capture her first pregnancy. I instantly fell for her. She's not only stunning, but is kind and warm and loves being pregnant and having babies. She has since had 4 babies and I have been her photographer (and now videographer) for all 4! Her boys are all so well behaved and love "Miss Jennie" - I know her family and I have a bond that will carry on for years. Our sessions have always been fun and amazing, occasionally a tad wild - and they have always been filled with connection and love. She's an ideal client for having a family film and I have been trying to convince her of this for a few years. But it's hard for clients to imagine their families in films. They think they aren't interesting enough, or their kids aren't going to behave. When in reality, I have so many clips of it all that I can pick and choose from, that even if there were moments that weren't ideal, I can just skip those..... Anyway, Im rambling - but for her most recent newborn baby boy, I was able to do a film for them. She now says that she "cant not have films" because she gets it. Mothers and Fathers cant foresee what a film will give them - but once you've had your family filmed, its something you'll want to repeat. There are just too many amazing moments that film and video capture in a unique way compared to photos. (By the way, film sessions also come with photos, so you don't have to choose). Here is their family film, welcoming Asher into their family.
Warmly,Jennie
Franklin, TN Newborn Photographer | Welcoming Walt
Walking a journey into motherhood is a passage into a new self as a woman and a person. Add into that any other struggle or variable, and the journey becomes that much more complex. But I have seen in my life as a mother, that the harder the struggle, the brighter the light is at the end.
Watch their film here:
Kate, the mommy of baby Walt, told me - no - admitted to me during her session that she prepared herself to not really become a mother. After many miscarriages, Kate struggled to fully believe that her dreams of being a mother would ever come true. Im so glad she was wrong.
Capturing meaning in a family's moments together. That is the goal of a family film. That is the purpose. It isn't to show a glamorous technical gorgeous session filled with gorgeous light and blurry background. Films and Photography are more than that to me. I would rather my images be extremely simple but tell a deeper story to the families within them. I would rather have 5 likes on IG and FB and have my clients sob over their photos and film. That is the ultimate reward.
Thanks for reading and listening.
Warmly,
Jennie
Nashville Baby Photographer | Jude's Documentary Video + Photo Session
Sometimes in my job I get the most perfect scenario. Not only do I get to capture the stage of life that is one of the most pivotal in our lifetime, but I also am blessed to capture people I have deeply connected with. Ashlea and Matt, owners of Herban Market in Franklin, TN have become good friends of mine. I have been a crunch mom for 8 years - before it was cool to be one - Haha! Their little store has become a haven for me and my family. Before they opened, we could only get the quality of food we eat at the Franklin Farmer's Market. But now, if we run out between Saturday's, we can go to Herban and grab eggs or local meat, any local vegetable etc. The best part is, its small and not large like a walmart or whole foods. So, its convenient to run in really quick and grab something. I am Keto and my family is Keto/Paleo (we go back and forth) and so we don't have many restaurants in the area to eat at. Even when we find something really great, they almost always fry in soy/canola oil and thats a big fat no for me and my family. We don't even feel well on this one item alone. I know that I can go into herban for a round of tacos, or a great huge amazing salad. The entire story is GMO Free, all organic, mostly local, soy free - they filter out the bad for you. They have truly given my family the most amazing gift - convenience in a natural lifestyle - which is hard to come by.Times are for sure changing. And even better, Herban Market is EXPANDING to more than double their current space. They will have a full restaurant and I CANNOT WAIT.I suppose I should get back to my original point....I was SO blessed to capture someone I have this deep personal relationship with. It makes my job just that much deeper and more rich - I feel even MORE joy and excitement creating a film and capturing their family during this short but super sweet time.Without further ado, please enjoy Jude's Newborn Film.Welcoming Jude from Jennie Pyfferoen on Vimeo.Below is a sneak peek of their images from their in-home documentary baby session.
Franklin Baby Photographer + Filmmaker | Welcoming Mary Patton
On a day in mid May, Parker (aka Daddy) contacted me for a live family video for his baby on the way, expected to arrive in June. I happened to have a last minute opening. From the first contact, this family has been so special to me. They have trusted my vision, and it was an honor to photograph their first born.Mary Patton is the sweetest (with a tiny bit of sass) baby. Filming these two amazing parents loving on their newborn, comforting her cries, and nurturing her throughout the morning was soul filling. There is nothing like observing these firsts. Mary Patton's umbilical cord fell off the week leading up to the session, so we were also able to capture her first bath.No parents ever regret having a film made. This time is just too precious and short (and blurry). Its an investment that will give back to your hearts for years to come!P.S. Her Llama nursery was probably my favorite nursery of all time.Warmly,
