I spent a lovely morning with Avalee and her parents, capturing her in her everyday - playing and snuggling, stealing the remote control, reading a book... you know - typical day in the life of a toddler. I love these sessions, capturing their true spirit. In my opinion, it is what you would really miss. Babies don't keep. and their little personalities have so many little quirks, easily forgotten as the years pass.

This family was an absolute delight to work with. Jenn really wanted something very realistic in terms of her session. She wanted her life captured, as she brought a newborn into the family around Christmas. This is their 4th baby. and the siblings were all so in love with baby Ardenne. I spent a few hours chatting, filming, photographing and getting to know this clan. Her youngest daughter above Ardenne, I fell in love with the most, simply because I had the most interaction with her. Her personality is so curious and sweet. She prefers to understand what is happening. Jenn and I clicked very well and dare I to say, we became friends. Her children were so sweet and gentle with the new baby. I can tell their family is now complete.

Documentary is my heart and soul. I know that these images, above the perfect, posed, outdoor, placed on a quilt, directed images, will bring these parents right back into these moments with these kiddos on THIS day. There is nothing like these real, raw, truly candid memories. This momma is getting a huge album for this session, to look back on forever. I cannot wait for it to be in her hands! These are the images that will leave you with giggles and tears. We had SUCH fun baking and crafting.

Nashville Family Photographer | Documentary Day in the Life {The Chu Family}
Once you shoot documentary, you want nothing else. Gone is the facade and in comes the REAL and RAW. I am completely obsessed, and my client is in LOVE too. Remembering her early years of coloring, daddy putting pig tails in her hair, eating raisins, and running about. Those are the moments that we cant get back. Her sassy smirks and love of all things pink. Her spunk and giggles, those - are the memories worth keeping. In 2018, I will be doing MORE of this. and less of the directed, posed, even lifestyle (still directed to some degree) work. More films, more REAL moments. xoxo

We had a blast. This family loved. and played together, and laughed the entire shoot. It was the best weather ever. These boys LOVE shooting with me. We always just have such fun. This family loves spending time together, and their love is so evident in person and in these images. I cant wait to see what mom does with these photos in her new home! I have been photographing this family since baby #1 was a newborn. They are SO full of love and fun! and the children are SO sweet and well behaved. (The majority of my sessions are). I don't think my boys would behave this well at this age. But we had a blast and played. The weather was perfect, not cold and not hot, just right for October! I love this location because it gives me so many background types. My favorite images are the ones where I give little direction and the clients are doing what comes naturally. I want them to remember their life the way it is right now.

Filming and Photographing Baby Hall was such a blessing. He had a kidney issue and was delivered early. We waited a little longer for the session, so here is 1 month old. His big sister is head over heels in love with him. And you can see vividly the love in this family. I LOVE their film, it captures this time so beautifully. These sessions are so laid back and sweet. I love being chosen to capture this. Its an honor and I enjoy all of it!

Garrett hasn't yet spent much time outside. So the wonder on his face was absolutely amazing. The fall leaves and the weather were so beautiful. I really LOVE this family. They are warm and sweet and loving. They truly embrace their togetherness. They do not take life for granted.
