Nashville Family Filmmaker and Photographer | The White Family

A few years ago, I attended a birth. It was a first time momma. I was there with the birth team (Haven Birth and Wellness along with her doula, Viergeni White). I had been there maybe an hour. Viergeni had not said to much in that time, but I looked at her and said “You are my favorite doula”

I’m a gut instincts kinda gal. I just had this spiritual gut instinct about Viergeni. Her being my favorite doula had nothing to do with how she helped mom, although her skills there are top notch. It was just a spiritual feeling when you are around her. Her soul is something unique. Her presence is calming without her even having to speak. Here in the Nashville area, we are unbelievably blessed with some amazing people in the birth space. Viergeni’s reputation speaks for itself.

Fall of 2025, I was blessed to be able to film Viergeni’s family. It went just how I anticipated. It was easy, like hanging with friends you’ve known forever. The way they interact and live life together, comes as easy as breathing. Being able to witness her in motherhood is something to behold. I feel so honored to be asked to enter their lives and capture their story.

For their film, we focused on their land, the garden, the animals they care for. How they work together day in and day out together. They have a tradition of telling stories. Each person tells a story on the fly and for this film, I used the audio from Viergeni’s story she told. I wove into that the video clips of them working on their land.
